Introduction
The Sternophoroidea were recognised recently by Harvey (1992) as the sister-group to the Cheliferoidea. The group comprises only a single family, Sternophoroidae.
Diagnosis
The Sternophoroidea can be recognised easily by the presence of an intercoxal pseudosternum and a V-shaped posterior carapaceal margin.
