Type species:
Labrus fucicola Richardson, 1840 by original designation.
Introduction
Molecular phylogenetic studies of Mabuchi et al. (2004) and Westneat & Alfaro (2005) suggested that Notolabrus Russell 1988, is closely related to Pseudolabrus and that separate generic status may not be warranted.
