Introduction

This is another genus described by Fieber (1866) from Europe which may not have relevance to the Australian fauna. Dicranotropis also includes species from Asia, Africa and North America and the genus needs to be revised to determine if all these species are congeneric with the European type species. No mention was made of the genus by Fennah (1965) in his work on the Australian and New Zealand fauna. For these reasons, few details of the genus are provided here.
