Family ASSAMIIDAE Sörensen, 1884
Introduction
Assamiids are restricted to the Old World and are particularly diverse in the rainforests of Asia. The Australian fauna is represented by eight genera, of which all except Dampetrus is monospecific. Most are restricted to northern Australia, but Dampetrus extends as far south as Victoria (Forster 1949).
