Genus Aenictus Shuckard, 1840

 

Introduction

Following the last revision by Borowiec (2016) Aenictus includes more than 180 species which makes it the most conspicuous genus of Dorylinae. The distribution spans throughout Africa and eastwards through Middle East to China and Australia, with single species known from Greece and Armenia.





The species-level taxonomy of the Australian fauna was examined by Shattuck (2008).
