Redescribed by Newman & Cannon (1994); holotype unknown, but Newman & Cannon deposited voucher material at the Queensland Museum (QM G210345, coll. G. Allan, 12.vii.1989).

Djibouti. Heron Island, Capricorn Bunker Group, southern Great Barrier Reef, reef slope, 9 m (depth); in association with blue-purple ascidians (Clavelina sp.) under ledges on the reef slope.
